They have varied musical influences such as
jazz, blues, rock and even pop songs that are
played today.  They consider themselves a
fun, energetic rock band.  That is evident by
the energy they emit on stage that acts like a
conduit to their audience.  Lead singer, Martin
Johnson, is the driving force behind the music.
John said, "Martin comes in with an idea and
we start jammin'". Bryan added, " All four of us
collaborate to make it a structured song."
Thunder was their first original song but in terms
of creativity they both agreed the song would
be Hero/Heroine.  John said that song was
born form a total vibe when they were in the
studio.  Even though they like being in the
studio they really enjoy meeting new people
and travelling the country.  They even played
a few dates in the UK with the All American
Rejects.  They have grown in popularity in
such a short amount of time.  Bryan said,
"Getting responses from the crowds when
we play live is rewarding.  The more people
that hear our music and like it is important to
us."  Listen to Boys Like Girls and I'm sure it
will be an important addition to your record
collection.
HOTTEST NEW BAND; BOYS LIKE GIRLS
SIMPLE FACT; GIRLS LOVE THESE BOYS

This Boston band has come up so quickly
not just because of their good looks but
because of their musical ability. Their pop
driven catchy songs like The Great Escape
off of their debut CD,
Boys Like Girls, is
quickly rising to popularity. They have an
uncanny sense of what sells.  Amid screams
from their fans when these guys took the
stage you noticed their complete command
of their audience.  Everyone in the place
sang to The Great Escape and Hero/Heroine
seemed to be another crowd favorite. People at
the House of Blues were so impressed by this
band.  Before Boys Like Girls even finished
their set the line was already being formed
to meet them,  People were rushing to be the
first to see them, take a photo, have them
sign their CD,/merchandise or just  to say
"hello". I felt as if i were witnessing a musical
phenomenon. The intensity of emotion that
this band stirred was amazing. Earlier, before ,
the show, I spoke with John Keefe, the drummer
and Bryan Donahue, the bass player for the band.
They have been together as Boys Like Girls for
approximately a year and a half. However, for
the past 3 years  Bryan, John and Martin have
been playing in different line-ups. Paul DiGiovanni
joined the group as the guitarist when John and
Bryan were doing a demo for a friend and the three
met.  They introduced him to Martin and the four
of them "just clicked".  Later, thanks to John's
mother, John  found out that he and Paul were
cousins. All four guys are now a musical family
unit. All the members came up with several names
to be considered but when Martin E-mailed his
list to the guys the one unanimously chosen
was Boys Like Girls..
