Isabela Moner is one of the brightest young stars on
the Hollywood horizon. In her career she has already
accomplished so much. She was one of the stars of
the very popular Nickelodeon sitcom, 100 Things to
do before High School and now plays Izabella in
Transformers, The Last Knight in theaters June 21st.
Isabela is a big fan of the Transformer franchise. She
said, "Shia was my first introduction to Transformers."
Shia LaBeouf was only 17 when he did Transformers
and Isabela was 14 in this latest installment of the film.
The Transformer franchise is always well written
and appeals to all ages.  Isabela said, " You are going to
understand the story even if you haven"t seen any of the
others." She also said, "Michael Bay wanted to bring the
youth back to the movie." Director, Michael Bay was very
sweet to Isabela. She said, "Michael was such a
sweetheart!" After one of the rehearsals Michael Bay
invited her and her family to his home and in his
house was Bumblebee on a turnstile. Isabela thought
that was so cool. She has so much respect for the
director. He has so much responsibility with the
over 500 crew members and actors and she really
appreciated the way he wanted to keep her and
her character with the childlike quality. She said,
"I appreciate him, he let me be a kid. "  The
illustrious cast which includes Mark Wahlberg and
Sir Anthony Hopkins were so down to earth and
grounded.  " They were such an inspiration", she
said.  Mark Wahlberg took Isabela under his wing.
He was very protective since she was so young.
She said, "He told me to turn my face away from
where they were testing the bombs. He said he
learned the hard way and I could burn my face."
They take very careful measures on set to make
sure everyone is safe. Isabela had to take training
for the movie. She did intensive training in cardio.
resistance and high intensity also boxing which was
her favorite. Michael Bay likes to have his actors do
their own stunts. It was a little intimidating since
Isabela had not done a lot with a green screen before.
"Working with a green screen was a little challenging
but once I used my imagination, it was easier:"
They help the actors by using cranes as "stand ins"
for the Transformers. Isabela was harnessed in on
top of the crane appearing to be sitting on the
shoulder of a Transformer. She said, "It started to
move and I held on for dear life!" She said one of
the most fun stunts was when she got to slide down
a sideways subway car. They had her tied to a rope
and she let gravity do the rest with a cool roll at
the end of her slide.
Isabela Moner Interview

by Lee Klamer
Isabela feels very fortunate to be in such a
great movie like Transformers: The Last
Knight.  She"s always wanted to be in
movies since she was little and used to get
out movies from the library. She loved
watching child actors like Shirley Temple and
Judy Garland in their movies.  Her
favorite film was the Wizard of Oz and when
she was 6 her Mom took her to audition at
The Beck Center.  She was cast as a
Munchkin  because she was just too young to
play Dorothy. She loves Broadway
TV and movies and can"t believe how lucky
she is to have been cast in all the genres.
Make sure to check out Isabela in
Paramount"s Transformers: The Last Knight
Opening in theaters on June 21st.
